So there's this thing called Digi Scrapping

I think I've done all the challenges I can over at Digital Scrapbook Memories for the Digi Olympics. I've had a blast! Here are my last three layouts:

Do you sense a theme? We've also made a countdown hangar today with rings of paper to tear off every day as we get ready for our next trip to Walt Disney World. I can't wait!

Another sketch challenge

Over at the PageMaps Blog. And it doesn't end until Sept. 7th, so you have time to make a layout.

Here's the sketch.

And here's my interpretation. I'm in some serious denial about how old my child is.

Two posts in one day

So I was cleaning out my downloads folder and came across this quick page: Go to her shop and click on Freebies on the left hand side of the screen.

I took a picture of Ariana today and it was perfect for the page. And now I'm done! What could be better than that?

More Digi Olympics

I've not been in the mood to scrap much lately. Mostly DT stuff and Digi Olympics. And reading. A lot!

Here are my digi olympics layouts so far:

Digi Olympics

Remember my torch post here?

Well, I've created my first layout. It's for archery. The assignment was to use 6-12 square pictures that are exactly the same size, lined up straight and evenly distributed. So this is what I came up with:

(click to make it bigger)

Nothing fancy, just pictures from a trip to Callaway with my girl. It was fun to make, though :).

Planting a Tree

This is my eighth week of entering the SBE Ultimate Summer Contest. I love this layout. It's made with Graphic 45 papers and some crochet. I'll update if I'm a finalist :).

SBE Ultimate Summer Challenge Finalist!

I'm so excited! My hybrid layout is one of the top 10 finalists for week 7 at SBE's Ultimate Summer Challenge.

Please vote if you feel so inclined :).

Graphic 45: Baby to Bride

Talk about rich and inviting. These papers really lend themselves to telling stories. You know those little stories that if you don't tell them won't survive the ages. This month I used Graphic 45's Baby to Bride collection to tell some of the stories that have been spinning around in my head since I started scrapbooking. It feels really good to get them out of my head and into a tangible form.

This one is kind of funny. When I was in elementary school, not more than seven or eight, my sister got to stay home from school with a soar throat. That afternoon I got home and she's telling me this tall tale about how the fire trucks came to the house. I didn't believe her. Well, turns out there was a small fire in the chimney and the fire trucks did come to the house. I was glad everyone was o.k, but really disappointed I'd missed the fire trucks.

A tradition in my family is for Grandma to gift a new bride with flatware. I got to pick the pattern and Grandma gave it to me for my wedding. I use it everyday. I think of her everytime I reach into the silverware drawer. Now my daughter will know the story. I honestly don't know if I've ever mentioned it before. See this is the reason I scrapbook. So that the things I know in my head end up in someone else's heart.

My Grandma gave me a small box of patterns several years ago. This is the actual pattern she used to sew my Grandfather's jackets. He was a mail man and used to wear out the sleeve of his jacket reaching over the back of the seat for the mail as he was making his deliveries. He liked his jackets just so and this pattern fit the bill.

I have a hard time "altering" something I'm not going to use later. So I decorated a cassette tape cover. I know ... who uses cassettes anymore? Well, keeping with my theme of telling stories, this tape was a gift from my Grandma. She knows I love choral music of all types. She heard this and thought of me. That's what love is all about. So I decorated the cover and thought of her the whole time.

Sometimes it's fun just to play. I love the way this card came out with the little bird. A cute card for a cute kid :).

So tell your story. Even if it's a teeny tiny thing. If you write it down it will be saved forever.
