Three diverse people

We each have our own likes and dislikes. We each enjoy some of the same things and different things. We love movies, games and going down to the lake. I like scrapbooking :), my husband enjoys anything to do with engines and cars, and my daughter loves anything creative. Including photography.

I've permenantly leant her my old digital point and shoot camera. It's fun to occasionally grab the memory card and load them up to my computer to see where her imagination has lead her.

All of this to lead up to telling you that there is a photography contest at the library this summer as a part of the summer reading program "Catch the Reading Bug." Each child can enter two photographs. I read the directions to her and this is what she came up with. I am very impressed!

Now we'll have to come up with a really cool presentation :).

My first thought last night

When I looked at this journal:

Was, when I get home, I'm going to make it pretty. And I did:

Yes, I joined Weight Watchers. Yes, it's going well :). Well enough that I'm going to keep eating all those fruits and vegetables. It's a good time of year to rediscover salad. But that's certainly not all I eat. I had pizza for dinner last night. Yum!

Credits: Journal: WW, Cardstock: Wausau (it sparkles!), Patterned Paper: MME, Large Flower: Q & Co., Small Flowers: Wal-Mart, Large Brad: Stemma, Other brads: SEI, Letter Stickers: Reminisce, # Sticker: Making Memories, Fluid Chalk: Colorbox, Corner Rounder: EK Success, Hole Punch: Crop-a-dile (I used the small side and it was perfect.

Thanks for stopping by!

Raiding the sticker stash.

I accepted the challenge over at Scrapbooks, Etc. to raid my sticker stash and create a layout for their Ultimate Summer Challenge. You can check it out if you want SBE Ultimate Summer Challenge.

Here's a smaller version of the layout. It was a lot of fun to use pumpkin stickers for the sunshine :).

ETA: I'm in the finalists! Kind of fun :). You can head over to see it here: SBE Summer Challenge Week 1 Finalists

And vote if you are so inclined ;).

A recent digi layout to share

Have I mentioned I love sketches? This is a PageMaps sketch.

We were in the midst of an Ancient Egypt fascination. It has since passed, but we still dance like Egyptians on occasion.

How Now Brown Cow

Usually I love bold bright colors and lots of cardstock. Other times I like more muted colors. I guess it's kind of like sometimes listening to techno dance music and sometimes Mozart. This one kind of turned out brown, but I like it. My daughter and husband call this style of photography "papparazzi mama." I love my zoom lens for this kind of shot.

Arizona: 2008

Did you know that out west they don't serve sweet tea in restaurants? The servers seriously looked puzzled as to why anyone would even want sweet iced tea. Poor DH drank a lot of water, LOL!

We just got home from a trip out to Phoenix, Arizona. While there we visited a Ghost Town, the Meteor Crater, the Grand Canyon, the Desert Botanical Gardens and the pool of course! DD and her cousin played in the pool nearly every day. We all had an amazing adventure.

Here's a slideshow of just a few of my favorite pictures.
