Shutter Sisters: Up Close & Personal

My daughter's eyes fascinate me. Well, in this case, I guess it's just this one :).

Thank you Shutter Sisters for the impetus to edit this shot. Taken about a year ago with my Sigma 105mm Macro lens.

I ♥ Faces: Fix it Friday

So here I am taking a break from Spring Cleaning with my mom. And what do I do for fun? Edit someone else's picture, LOL!

I ♥ Faces has a regular Fix It Friday feature. This baby is soooo cute. I decided to play very quickly before I get started on the third bedroom closet. Believe me, it's scary and worth procrastinating.

I used PSE5 and a combination of editing for color and then I used CoffeeShop Rita's Perfect Portrait action and changed the opacity, masked or deleted the myriad layers available for editing.

So check out all the other edits at I ♥ Faces!

Candids

I live for this type of shot. Over the last few years while I've been learning as much as possible about my camera and how to get great pictures, my daughter has become the queen of avoiding said camera. When I am able to truly capture her feeling in the moment, that's when I'm happiest.

We went to WDW in March and got to visit Pixie Hollow and meet Tinker Bell. This is how she felt as she walked in the room:

Pure incandescent happiness. After a seventy minute wait, this is pretty big :D.
Thank you SS for the impetus to post this one :).

Black and White Overload

I have a soft spot in my heart for b/w photography. Downtown there is a Burger King built into an old house. Throughout the place are b/w pictures of the town in its younger days. Whenever I happen to be there alone I take the time to look at the pictures and read all the captions. It is fascinating. There is no way I could have just picked one b/w picture to share. So this is officially a picture overload post, LOL!

My daughter (of course):

A self-portrait with my wonderful dear husband:

And the occasional flower:

There's something about b/w that strips away anything extraneous and leaves just pure emotion. Today's post is powered by Shutter Sisters. They continue to be a wonderful inspiration to me.

Proof I went to WDW

I forget to hand off my camera to others while I'm at Disney. There was one memorable trip where there was exactly one picture of me on the entire trip. Not good, LOL. On this trip I made sure to hand my camera to my daughter for pictures with the characters and I kept the PhotoPass card in my pocket. There are lots of me on the PhotoPass :).

So here's one of me at MGM ... whoops! Disney Hollywood Studios. Someone needed a hat and someone else needed sunglasses. And shopping at Disney is a lot of fun. I caught my reflection in this mirror and thought it was cool:

So here it is. Proof I was at WDW!
